Friday 24th April

Good Morning Everyone!

Its Friday! Let's do the final Joe Wicks PE session of the week.

English: Today its your spelling test. Ask an adult or an older brother or sister to test you on this week's words. Try your best and good luck! Let me know how you get on.

Today we're going to use our CGP Books. In your KS1 English book complete Autumn Term Workout 3. Write the date at the top of the page and remember to work neatly.

Now to finish off our English today we are going to practise our handwriting. I would like you to complete page 1 of the handwriting booklet below. Copy the words in your best handwriting into your orange book.

Maths

Today we are continuing with place value. I'd like you to complete pages 11, 12 and 13 of the booklet. (Number Matching, Solve It and Number Square Disaster) For Number Matching copy down the number in words in your book and then write the matching numeral next to it. For Solve It either print the page out or if you don't have a printer you could make your own number cards copying down the numbers on paper. Again for Number Square Disaster either print the sheet or write the missing numbers in order in your orange book.

Fairtrade Foundation Fashion Revolution Week

Design and Technology

Mrs Godfrey has passed on this idea from the Fairtrade Foundation and I thought it would be a fun way to end the week. Maybe if you don't get chance to finish this afternoon you could carry on over the weekend. Maybe you could make more than 1 puppet?

Upcycle your socks... sock puppet style! Do you have any holey socks in your drawer? Maybe some socks that are too small? A lot of care goes into making socks. There are many people involved at all stages of the supply chain! Rather than throwing your carefully-made socks away, can you create a sock puppet? Send pictures of your craft to schools@fairtrade.org.uk or tag us on Twitter (@FairtradeUKEd) for a chance to be featured in our next newsletter!

Don't forget to send me any pictures of your puppet as well. I've added some pictures in the document below to inspire you.

I hope you've enjoyed this week's activities and have a lovely weekend with your families in the sun. Stay home and stay safe! smiley
