Good morning! I hope you are all well and have had a lovely weekend. This time next week lots of you are returning to school which is very exciting. I can't wait to see you all.

Below is your work for today: morning activity, maths, english and topic work.

Don't forget to get some daily exercise and do some reading too.

Morning activity

Look at your new spellings for this week and check that you know what each adverbial of place means. If you don't, ask someone in your family or use a dictionary tool to help you.

I then want you to practise writing out each spelling 5 times. How many different words can you make from each spelling?

e.g. in nearby you can make: near, by, ear, Earby, are, bare etc.

Maths - Subtracting decimals with a different number of decimal places

Watch the video and then have a go at completing the questions below.

For your English work today I would like you to work from the workbook that we started last week.

I want you to read the poem titled 'Summer Sun' and then have a go at answering the questions. Some of them may require you to use your inference skills, so think really carefully about what you think each line of the poem is suggesting.

I would then like you to have a go at 'Summer Sentence Scramble' which requires you to use relative clauses to up-level the sentences. Remember, the relative clauses we use are 'who, which or that' so just use these in your writing please. See how imaginative you can make your clauses!
