Monday 30th March

Good Morning.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and have enjoyed your home learning so far.

Don’t forget to visit Joe Wicks’ YouTube channel for another fun and active start to your day.

You can also follow phonics live on Ruth Miskin training’s YouTube page where Read, Write inc. phonics lessons are available. For the times please check the phonics section of our class page.

Attached below are our learning activities for today. You also have your CGP Maths and English 10 minute workout books. Please complete Autumn term: workout 3 in your English book.

Don’t forget to take regular breaks outside and remember you can try some of the activities suggested in your workbook that was sent home.

Here are this week's spellings. We are currently recapping the sounds we have learned so far. This means that some of these words may be familiar to you.

day

say

may

way

lay

play

tray

spray

Take a little bit of time each day to learn these and then ask an adult to test you on Friday.

Maths. In maths we are securing our understanding of 3D shapes.

English

We are going to continue to learn about the animal you have chosen. Do you know where they live? Do they like to live in water, in a jungle or underground?

In your book under the long date, write about where the animal lives. Use the internet or books to help you. You can write about which countries they live in and where they like to live in that country. This could be underground, in fields, in a forest, in a pond or in an ocean.

Art

In art we have been practicing drawing with pencil. We have focused on still life drawing of fruit, animals and plants.

Today we are going to think about Easter, what are you picturing? Do you think about the Easter bunny, eggs, chicks or chocolate? Using all the things you thought about draw an Easter scene. This could be an Easter egg hunt, a lovely sunny day out for the Easter bunny or a picture of what you like to do at Easter.

Reading

Read your school reading book or if you prefer you could choose another book from home. Remember to use your phonics to help you read any tricky words.
