Thursday 23rd April

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you've got enough energy today for Joe Wicks at 9am on YouTube?

Today we are going to use conjunctions in a piece of writing. I'd like you to write a short story using lots of the conjunctions we know. I've written them down in a list below to remind you. If you are struggling to think of your own story maybe you could re-tell a fairy tale you already know and include the conjunctions in that.

and, so, but, if, because, when, that, such as, even though

Once you've finished your writing spend some time working on your reading and spellings.

Today we will continue with Place Value and pages 9 and 10 of the Place Value Activities (Hungry Crocodiles and Finding Numbers.) For each page write the question in your book and then add the answer.

Art: Zentangles (Fish)

Today we are going to make a zentangle in the shape of a fish. Below are some examples of zentangles to show you what these are.

First on a blank piece of paper (A4 if you have it) you need to create a sea background. You could do this in a number of ways depending on what you have at home. You could paint a background, use pencil crayons/crayons/felt tips or if you have any blue coloured papers you could cut these up and stick them on to cover your paper. Magazines might be good for this...find blue pictures and cut them up into small squares and stick them on your paper to create a collage effect.

Once you've done this create a fish outline on a separate piece of paper. Draw it nice and big in pencil first then I would go over the outline with a dark coloured felt tip. Below are some ideas for shape outlines.

When you're happy with your shape divide your fish into sections then make your careful zentangle design. Once you've drawn all the lines/patterns you may want to colour it in carefully. Send me some pictures of your finished work.
