Wednesday 22nd April

Good Morning.

I hope that you are all enjoying time outside and accessing the home learning work easily.

Don’t forget to visit Joe Wicks’ YouTube channel for an energetic start to your day.

You can also follow phonics live on Ruth Miskin training’s YouTube page where Read, Write inc. phonics lessons are available. For the times please check the phonics section of our class page.

Attached below are our learning activities for today. You also have your CGP Maths and English 10 minute workout books. Please complete Autumn term: workout 7 in your Maths book.

Don’t forget to take regular breaks outside and you can try some of the activities suggested in your workbook that was sent home.

In Maths we are practicing subtraction not crossing 10.
To do this you need to look at the number sentence given. Hold the starting number in your head and then using your fingers or counters to keep track of the jumps you have completed. You need to count back in jumps of one until you have completed enough jumps and reach the answer.
e.g. 16 – 3
16, 15, 14, 13
16 – 3 = 13

In your book underneath the dot date complete the number sentences below.
9 – 5 =
17 – 4 =
5 – 3 =
16 – 2 =
19 – 8 =
8 – 7 =

English. In English we are completing a spelling activity. We are practicing some common exception words.

In science we will be learning about weather and seasonal changes.
Can you remember the names of the 4 seasons? Is the weather the same in every season? What is different? What is similar? Which is your favourite season? What can you do in the different seasons?

Today can you split a page into quarters and draw a picture of each season showing what the weather is like? Above each picture write which season it is.

Read your school reading book or you could choose another book from home. Remember to use your phonics to help you to read any tricky words.
